New orangutan species discovered
The Orangutan has found a new family member

A new great ape species has been discovered in the forests of the Indonesian island of Sumatra, for the first time in more than 80 years. The animals have a smaller head and have flatter faces than other orangutans. The population is estimated to consist of approximately 800 individuals, making it the most rare and endangered great ape species in the world, especially because of the plans to build a dam in its habitat.
