Are you a researcher or do you represent a research institution? Are you interested in science communication and public outreach? If yes, we can help you promote your scientific research for free!

We offer you the possibility to promote and explain your research to the general public. There are two possibilities to do this:

  • If you believe your recently published scientific results are interesting, you may submit a news article (see requirements below) which we will publish after approval. We accept news articles from any area of scientific research.

  • If you (or your institution) have a high degree of expertise in a specific field of research, you may submit an “expert opinion” article explaining your research topic in a simple language adapted for the general public. This is a review article designed to explain a scientific topic in a simple and clear manner in order to promote the understanding and acceptance of that particular topic.

After submission, your articles will be quickly reviewed by our editorial team and published on our website if they meet our requirements. No fee will be required if the publication is accepted.

Requirements for news articles:

  • In order to match the specifications of our website, the articles must be short, containing a maximum of 150 words (title, author and institution information excluded). Recommended, but optional, a longer version (maximum 2500 words) of the news may be submitted. The longer version will be published on a separate page and it is intended to provide more information about the research for the readers interested in that subject.
  • The research covered by the news article must have been published already in a peer-reviewed scientific journal.
  • By submitting the text you are granting us the right to display the text on our website and on our social media channels. The author will be clearly displayed and you retain the copyright and all the rights of the written text.
  • Submit the text in either Word format or PDF format. The text must be written in English.
  • The article must be accompanied by the name of at least one author, the institution/affiliation of the author, a description and copyright attribution for all media files submitted and the link for the online page containing the published research article.
  • The article must be accompanied by at least one photo, image or video for which you have the rights to distribute. By submitting the media files you are granting us the permission to use them on our website in association with the news item that you have submitted. The images/videos are to be used on our website to illustrate the news, on our social media pages (if the news will be promoted there) and in some cases in science videos that we produce regularly (if your news if selected to be featured). The media is not to be used in any other ways and you retain the copyright and full rights. Attribution will be provided whenever the media file is to be displayed.

Requirements for Expert opinion articles:

  • The expert opinion articles aim to explain in depth a research/scientific topic to the general public. The author must have solid knowledge about the topic. Any scientific topic is accepted. This provides you with a great opportunity to advocate your research.
  • The articles must contain between 500 and 2000 words. By submitting the article you are granting us the right to display the text on our website and on our social media channels. The author will be clearly mentioned and you retain the copyright and all the rights of the written text.
  • Submit the article in either Word or PDF format. The text must be written in English.
  • The article must be accompanied by the name of the author, the institution/affiliation of the author, captions and copyright attributions for all media files submitted.
  • The article must be accompanied by at least one photo, image or video for which you have the rights to distribute. By submitting the media files you are granting us the permission to use them on our website in association with the article that you have submitted. The images/videos are to be used on our website to illustrate the story, on our social media pages (if the article will be promoted there) and, in some cases, in science videos that we produce regularly (if your news if selected to be featured). The media is not to be used in any other ways and you retain the copyright and full rights. Attribution will be provided whenever the media files are to be displayed.

To submit an article, please send us the files by email at contact (@) sciencebrieffs.com. Please use the same email address for any inquiries and questions you may have.

We are looking forward to collaborating with you!
